At his office in the new Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center, Dr. Undavia treats patients not only from Mercer County and the Princeton area, but from all of New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, and New York City. Dr. Undavia has become known as the physician who takes care of other physicians, nurses and their families because of his bedside manner, attention to detail and his superior surgical skills. He is widely recognized for his advanced surgical and non-surgical approaches to the face and neck.

Approach

Dr. Undavia recognizes that all of medicine has become compartmentalized. That is why he has chosen to super-specialize in only the cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and neck, not the whole body. To this end, Dr. Undavia is the author and coauthor of numerous articles, book chapters and abstracts on subjects that are pertinent to only the face, nose and neck. He has also presented his work nationally to his peers in the field of the head and neck surgery, and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Undavia understands that he is a physician first. He believes that it is important to take care of all the aspects of the head and neck when dealing with the cosmetic aspects of this area. Not addressing the functional or medical aspects of the head and neck often results in problematic complications with cosmetic surgery of the face and neck. The two must go hand in hand. This is why Dr. Undavia also strives for excellence in the medical and surgical care of the head and neck. Being dual board certified in both Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, he has developed a practice that often deals with fixing unsuccessful outcomes from previous surgeries by other surgeons.

Education & Training

As a native of the Tri-State area, Dr. Undavia attended medical school at New York Medical College. He was then chosen to complete his residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. During his residency, he excelled in both the medical aspects of head and neck surgery, as well as cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and neck. He served as Chief Resident his final year of residency, and was selected to be the Administrative Chief Resident. He was then selected to complete his fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Texas in Houston at the world famous Texas Medical Center. Here he learned from Dr. Russell Kridel, one of the past presidents of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and a leader in the field. It was here where Dr. Undavia mastered all the surgical and non-surgical aspects of face and neck, and developed a keen aesthetic eye. With a strong focus on rhinoplasty, revision rhinoplasty and the aging face, Dr. Undavia learned how to achieve great results while also making sure the functions of the nose and face were unharmed, or improved.

At the University of Texas, Dr. Undavia served as a teaching physician to the residents and medical students of the worlds largest hospital systems. That experience allowed Dr. Undavia to fine- tune his teaching skills, both to his patients and to students of medicine. To this day, Dr. Undavia enjoys teaching residents, and was recently recognized by the Capital Health Hospital system for his devotion to teaching the residents. More importantly, he uses these skills every day to teach his patients about aspects of their medical care.
